Because those who score more are considered meritorious students, So, the higher the marks, the greater the chance of receiving a scholarship. The next category is gross annual. Next is eligibility. The criterion is that the gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to Rs 3 lakh. It means that the gross annual income of the family, that of your parents, should not be more than Rs 3 lakh. If it is more than Rs 3 lakh, then you cannot apply for it. So, one has to keep in mind that you are a student of class 9th to 12th in the current academic year, i.e. in the 2025-26 session, your percentage in the previous year, whether it was class 8th or 9th, should not be less than 75% and the family income should not be more than Rs 3 lakh. SBI Asha Scholarship amount :
If you are taking advantage of reservations, meaning you belong to the SC/ST category, you will also need to upload your category certificate. So, these are the important documents you will need to upload: academic records, identity proof, admission proof, financial documents, additional documents, and personal documents. Regarding the important dates, look here: it started on September 19th, and you can apply for it until November 15th, 2025. Now, let's discuss if you are pursuing a UG course. You are pursuing a UG course in the 2025-26 session. So, applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate course in any year from a premier university or college in India that is listed in the top 300 institutes according to the latest NIRF rankings. This means that if you are pursuing any UG course from one of the top 300 institutes listed in the NIRF rankings, regardless of the year, you are eligible. Yes. Students must have secured a CGP and 75% marks or above in their previous academic year. This means that if you are in the second year, your first year CGP or 75% marks should not be less than seven. Your gross annual family income should be less than 6 lakh rupees, not more than 6 lakh rupees. The scholarship you will receive will be up to ₹ 75,000. So here you see that the first category is that you are studying in the top 300 universities, colleges, or academic institutions in the NIRF rankings, pursuing a UG course, and that too should have a NAAC rating. NAAC rating A and above accreditation means that your college, your university or your academic institution should get accreditation and should have minimum A rank, it should not be below A, A plus, this will do, so this is the first criteria that the top 300 institutions in NIRF ranking should be universities or academic institutions plus they should have got NAAC A grade or NAAC A plus or A plus plus, then you can apply under UG course and then the rest of the criteria are the same. If you belong to the SC/ST category, you can still apply even if you have 67.5%. Or if you are in CGPM, you must have a minimum CGPA of 6.3. 50% of the seats will be reserved for females, and 50% of the seats will be reserved for SC/ST candidates. Here, 50% means that 50% of the seats in a category will be reserved for female candidates. For example, if the General category has 50% seats for General and OBC, then 50% of those will be reserved for females. So, a scholarship of ₹75,000 will be given here. So, you will have to upload the same documents: you will have to upload your marksheet from the previous academic year, identity proof, proof of income, and the fee receipt for the fees you have submitted. You'll need to submit a bona fide student letter. Or, if you have a college identity card, you'll need to submit that. You'll need to upload a photograph. So, you'll need to upload all these things there.
Similarly, if you're a PG student, like an MBA, MSc, or MCom, the same applies if you're in the top 300 institutions in the NIRF rankings. If your college or you are in a university then it should be A plus it should have got NAAC A or A plus or A plus plus, it should definitely have NAAC grading and should have got minimum A, if it is below A i.e. B or C then it will not be applicable and the same percentage criteria is that seven CGPA or at least 75% marks should be more than that, if you are SC or ST then you can apply even if you have 67.5 or 5. Is it clear? Or if you have a CGPA, then those with a 6.3 CGPA can also apply if you are from the SC or ST category. And the next criterion is that your annual family income should not be more than ₹6 lakh. So the scholarship amount here is up to ₹250,000 i.e. ₹2,50,000 scholarship will be given to the students here. So, the same thing applies here: 50% of the seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates, and the remaining 50%, meaning 50% of the seats in a category, will be reserved for female candidates. For example, if 50% are SC/ST, then 50% of those 50% SC/ST seats will also be reserved for females. Clear? So, you need to keep this in mind. Regarding medical institutes, the same applies: whatever course you pursue is in the top 300 institutions according to the NIRF rankings. According to the course you are pursuing, your minimum CGPA in your previous academic year should not be less than 75%. If you are SC or ST, your CGPA should not be less than 67.5%, or if you have 6.3%, your CGPA should not be less than 6.3%. Your annual family income should not be more than ₹6 lakh. If you fulfil all these criteria, you can get a scholarship of ₹4,50,000. If you are pursuing any course in IIT, applicants must be pursuing any undergraduate course of any year from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT India), that is, if you are pursuing any UG course from IIT, you can still apply. The condition is that your family income should not exceed ₹6 lakh annually. Your CGPA in your previous year's record should not be less than 75% . If you are SC or ST, 67.5 will be considered, and if you have a CGPA of 6.3, then 67.5 will be considered. You can receive a scholarship amount of up to ₹1 lakh here. If you are pursuing an MBA or PGDM course from IM, you can also apply. The only condition is that you have passed the previous academic year. CGPA should also be more than 75% marks and the family income should not exceed ₹6 lakh. Clear? If SC/ST students have 67.5% marks. If their CGPA in the previous academic year or higher is 6.3, they will still be eligible. They will get a chance to apply here. Scholarships of up to ₹5 lakh can be obtained here. Overseas students, that is, Indian nationals and those who belong to SC/ST categories and are pursuing post-graduate or PhD courses from top premium institutions, can apply for this scholarship, where they can get a scholarship of ₹20 lakh.
The clear condition is that they should have a minimum 75% marks in the previous academic year and their gross annual family income should not exceed ₹6 lakh. Clear? Students with gross annual family income of up to ₹6 lakh. Clear? And if they are SC/ST then if they had 67.5% in the previous academic year or a CGPA of 6.3, then they can also apply. So students from these categories can apply. Schools from class 9th to class 12th, Students pursuing a UG course, PG course, medical course, UG course from IIT, MBA/PGDM course from IIM, or postgraduate or higher education from a premium institution outside, and belonging to the SC/ST category, can apply for the SBI Foundation's Asha Scholarship. Clearly, you can receive a scholarship of up to ₹1 lakh. If you are from school then 15,000 are doing UG course, 75,000 are doing PG course there, 25,000 are doing medical course, 4,500 are doing IIT, 2 lakh if you are doing any UG course from IIT then you can get scholarship up to 2 lakh, if you are doing from IM then you can get scholarship up to 5 lakh and if you are doing course from overseas institution then you can get scholarship up to ₹ 7 lakh here.
